I’ve come to believe in the core of me that thanksgiving is not meant to be just an annual holiday or before-eating blessing; it’s a God-ordained way of living.
Be joyful always; Pray continually;
GIVE THANKS IN ALL THINGS;
for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
This is the doorway to the life to the full that Jesus came to give. Not that our every mood or circumstance would be cheerful, perfect, or pleasant. But that we would AWAKEN to his presence and purpose in our lives IN ALL THINGS. The best way I’ve found to live eyes wide open and heart soft toward surrender is through thanks-giving.
It’s not an easy journey or discipline for the faint of heart; but it is a joy-filled road for the soul-hungry that will leave you satiated in the Lord.

But before I got to the full part, I first had to tell them about being empty. Read more…
